“Deadline” — Here is a fresh movie package that will stir up some pre-July 4th fireworks among studios. Julia Roberts is set and Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, and Jason Sudeikis are in negotiations for Mother’s Day, a ensemble film that Garry Marshall is set to direct from a script by Anya Kochoff-Romano and Lily Hollander. The pic tells intertwining stories about the lives of several mothers as the title holiday approaches. It is the latest in Marshall’s holiday movie series that began with New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day, both of which were made by New Line. The package is going out to buyers from CAA this evening.
The film will be produced by Wayne Rice, Gulfstream Pictures’ Mike Karz, and Kevin Frakes of PalmStar Media, which is financing the film, with Palmstar’s Ankur Rungta exec producing. All of this is moving very quickly, as the film will begin production in August. It marks a re-team between Roberts and Marshall, who worked together on hit Pretty Woman, the film that launched Roberts to become the highest paid star of her era.
CAA, which represents Roberts, Aniston, Hudson, and Sudeikis, will represent the film’s domestic distribution rights. Roberts is also represented by Engelman & Company and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof + Fishman. Marshall is also represented by ICM Partners and RPMedia’s Rick Nicita at RPMedia. Aniston and Sudeikis are also represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Hudson is also represented by Untitled, Nicita, Jackoway Tyerman.
I’ll let you know where this lands as soon as I hear it, but it won’t take long.

“People” — If you are hoping to follow Jennifer Aniston on Twitter soon, don’t hold your breath.
The actress, 46, tried her hand at social media last month when she took over her beauty company Living Proof’s Instagram account and said it was not a pleasant experience.
“I was so stressed out, sweating bullets,” she tells PEOPLE. “It was too much pressure. For these Kardashians, it’s a career!”
She’s also worried about the effect social media is having on the younger generation.
“Kids aren’t speaking to each other anymore,” says the Aveeno spokeswoman. “I was with friends of ours from Vermont and their two kids don’t have an iPhone or an iPad. They were 9 and 12 and were the most interesting young adults. Seeing other kids on their [phones] all the time, it makes me sad.”
But that doesn’t mean she won’t indulge in a little Kardashian viewing now and then.
“I sadly am very much interested in the Kardashian-Jenner thing,” Aniston says. “That’s a guilty pleasure for sure.”
And her thoughts on the recent Caitlyn Jenner Vanity Fair cover?
“I thought it was beautiful.”

“Forbes” — From anyone else, the admission that plenty of water and sleep are the best way to attain a glowing complexion tends to elicit an automatic eye roll. But when Jennifer Aniston mentions—without any hint of pretense—that it’s the best beauty secret she has in her arsenal, I find myself nodding along in agreement (never mind that she can’t see me over the phone).
Of course, hydration and rest are just the cornerstones of the actress and Aveeno spokeswoman’s routine, which she rattles off in full during our call. The list, which echoes her easy aesthetic, includes a tightly edited skincare regimen, rotating workout options and a tendency toward moderation.
Below, our chat on all things beauty, from budget bar soaps to slightly pricier infrared saunas.
On her daily beauty routine:
“It’s actually quite simple, the routine—and it’s been pretty much the same routine for a long time, since I’m a creature of habit. I wash my face with my Neutrogena Cleansing Bar, and then I usually use a toner, whatever toner of the month I’m using. And serum, depending on what serum I’m using at the time. And then I use my Aveeno Daily Radiance Moisturizer, which has SPF 15—I usually mix into that the Aveeno sunscreen 30. So I mix them together and put them on my face; psychologically, it doesn’t make me feel like I’m loading on layers and layers of cream. That’s about it!”
On her go-to summer makeup look:
“I’ve been taking a break from the sun for the last couple years, and that might be a permanent one. So I usually do a bronzer of some sort and then a light eye and a rosy lip—a rosy-plummy kind of lip or a nude lip. My makeup’s pretty basic.”
On her fitness favorites:
“I actually have an injury so I haven’t been able to run, which I love more than anything—it’s what makes me feel like I get a really good workout. But I’ve also been loving the barre method lately, mixed in with spinning. I just like to mix things up, and also I really love an infrared sauna; it just allows for such beautiful, glowing skin and cell rejuvenation and detoxification. It even helps with weight loss and relaxation.”
On dieting fads:
“It’s really important, moderation. I don’t think crash diets are good. They’re all fads, whether it be the bulletproof coffee, paleo…they’re all versions of the same thing. Cutting out complex carbs is always a good thing, but I think you should always be able to have your pasta now and then, if you want it. If you’re healthy—you work out and you don’t overindulge in sugar or alcohol—you’re great.”
On social media & the Aveeno Unscripted Beauty campaign:
“I’m not a part of social media, so I get to relieve myself of that pressure. But it’s a great thing, this campaign. Everything doesn’t have a script, and things happen. The wonderful things are the mistakes that happen, the unplanned moments. That could be anything from your beautiful moment with your dogs that make you laugh…your kids, or the sunset or running into someone. Natural beauty—I think it means your beauty. For me, it means loving what you have and what you’ve been given. This society right now is very focused on youth and some sort of perfection, and chasing that is absolutely exhausting and unattainable.”
On the best beauty secret she’s learned:
“Honestly, and I’ve said it: it’s sleep, and water water water water water! Those are the two key ingredients.”
