Nicole Kidman joining Sandler-Aniston film

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Nicole Kidman will exercise her comedy chops in “Just Go for It,” Columbia’s romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.

Sports Illustrated cover model Brooklyn Decker also has joined the cast of the movie, which is due to go before cameras in March in Los Angeles.

Originally titled “Pretend Wife,” the story sees Sandler recruiting Aniston to pose as his soon-to-be-divorced wife and her kids as his fake family in order to land the girl of his dreams.

Kidman’s role is under wraps but is rumored to be cameo in nature. Decker plays Sandler’s dream girl.

The screenplay was written by Allan Loeb, Tim Dowling, Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler. Dennis Dugan will direct.

A fixture in Sports Illustrated since 2007, Decker nabbed a role in NBC’s pilot “Lipshitz Saves the World” and has appeared on “Chuck,” “Ugly Betty” and “Royal Pains.” She is repped by Gersh and Impression Entertainment.

Kidman, newly repped by Media Talent Group as well as CAA, is onscreen in “Nine.” Her last comedy was 2005′s “Bewitched.”

Jennifer Aniston’s romance with Gerard Butler ‘faked for publicity’

Friday, February 19th, 2010

The former Friends actress, who was photographed in Mexico with the Scottish hunk, reportedly flew the film crew down with her to capture the saucy pictures.

The media was initially fooled by Gerard and Jen canoodling but now reports say it was all set up by the actress, OK! Magazine revealed.

Just weeks before the release of their new film The Bounty Hunter, Jen wanted to capitalise on rumours of a fling with Butler and made sure every bikini shot was showing off her best angle, the magazine reported.

When confronted about flying the film crew to Mexico, she told Access Hollywood: “These people survive on us coming down and spending money.

“It sort of made sense to say: Hey, let’s help out Mexico.”

Earlier in the week reports said Jen thought the sex with Gerard was ‘amazing’ but now it seems her alleged sexual escapades were a sham.

Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston Stabbed in the Heart by John Mayer

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Singer John Mayer has always enjoyed quite a solid reputation of a loudmouth, though never before has he put his foot in his mouth like he did in a recent interview we were also telling you about. Presumably with the intention of making it his most honest interview ever, Mayer started dishing details of his relationships with Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston, much to the shock and humiliation of both.

Two of this week’s tabloids have covers precisely with this, as Cover Awards can confirm, though one chooses to talk of Jessica Simpson alone, while the other claims both feel as if they had just been “stabbed in the heart” by Mayer, a man whom they once loved and trusted. As it happens, given the backlash and media frenzy the Mayer interview has generated, neither OK! Magazine nor Star might actually be that far from the truth.

“Jessica Simpson was stunned on Feb. 10 when she awoke to a flood of texts, e-mails and Tweets asking if she had seen ex-flame John Mayer’s interview. ‘Jessica was shocked,’ a pal of the singer tells OK!. ‘She was really [upset] at first when she heard about it, then she read the whole interview, and the first thing that she said was, I’m annoyed John would sink so low’.” OK! magazine writes. The aforementioned interview would be the same one in which Mayer gave lurid details of their life behind closed doors, comparing her to “napalm” and “cocaine” in bed.

Star magazine, though, says the two stunners are not about to give up the fight without at least causing a ruckus, as if that was something they would ever do. The cover reads in screaming caps, “Jen & Jessica, Stabbed in the heart! John kisses & tells… everything. Now it’s revenge!” Further captions promise more startling revelations inside the magazine like, “Jen’s furious call to John; Jess freaks out; What THEY have on HIM,” as Cover Awards can confirm.

As we also informed you at the time, while Mayer really did air the dirty laundry on his affair with Simpson, he kept quite to himself about that with Jennifer Aniston, saying only that he had and continued to love her and that he would be forever sorry that things did not work out between them.

Jennifer Aniston Helps Out Tijuana Orphanage

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Jennifer Aniston may have looked tan and relaxed on the cover of several tabloids this week, pictures from her recent trip to Cabo San Lucas. But Jen — who turned 41 on Thursday — revealed to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that her visit wasn’t just about celebrating her birthday.

While in Cabo for the interview with Jen, Billy met Leigh Kilton-Smith, Jen’s acting coach and close friend of 20 years. The two women have teamed up for charity down South.

“When you drive up to this place you see these kids come running out and you hear a chorus of, ‘La, la, la, la,” Jen said of the children of Casa Hogar Sion orphanage and school, located in Tijuana, Mexico.

To support and help finance the orphanage, the actress works closely with the charity Friends of El Faro, which was co-founded by Leigh.

“These kids don’t feel like they are sitting there going, ‘Oh, my life sucks. Look at where I Live!’” Jennifer recounted. “They have been given a lot of love and they’re getting educated, which is the most important thing for them.”

Jen teamed up with the One & Only Palmilla resort to create the Farita doll. Handmade in Mexico and costing $95, it raises funds for the orphanage, which was founded in 1998 by Mama Carmen and Papa Jorge.

Jen has a long history of helping the safe haven out.

“She’s rescued us so many times from letting the kids fall into positions of desperation,” Leigh added.

In fact, Jen and Leigh have collaborated before. Leigh is more than an acting coach, just call her the woman behind Jen’s big screen successful start.

“I got the movie called, ‘The Good Girl’ and I was like, ‘Um, Leigh, I’ve got to put my tail between my legs and do it,’” Jen recalled of transitioning from funny TV “Friend” to serious big screen star. “So anyway, the first thing she did was put weights on my hands because she said I talk with my hands too much.”

“What ‘Anistonian’ quality have you instilled?” Billy asked Leigh.

“I taught her this,” Leigh said, twirling her hair Aniston style as the three laughed.

“Wow, she’s making fun of my hair twirl,” Jen said.

“That’s the moneymaker right there,” Billy added.

Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler ‘save’ Mexico on humanitarian holiday

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

There we were thinking those pictures of Jennifer Aniston sunning herself on a Mexican beach were simply a treat as she celebrated her 41st birthday.

But apparently her stay at the $9,000-a-night villa at Cabo San Lucas wasn’t about enjoyment, it was for the good of the Mexican people.

John Mayer: New Song’s Not About Jennifer Aniston

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

John Mayer’s new song “Heartbreak Warfare” may not be about ex-girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, but the rocker’s new album, Battle Studies is strongly influenced by his failed romance. Let’s face it Jen was too good for the goofy guitar genius.

Mayer began dating Aniston in April 2008 and the relationship sputtered to an end last January (09) after one brief reconciliation. John now confesses that his Twitter obsession helped drive them apart, something Jen complained about months ago.

“One of the most significant differences between us was that I was tweeting. There was a rumor I was dumped because I was tweeting too much. That wasn’t it,” he told Playboy magazine.

“She saw my involvement in technology as a courting distraction, and I always said, ‘These are the new rules.’”

Technology-wise, he said, Aniston is still grounded in 1998. That ultimately was the problem.

Mayer wrote much of his new album while dating the former “Friends” star and his thoughts on the romance made it into some of his song’s lyrics.

“There’s a level of honesty in that record that probably made her uncomfortable, but I couldn’t let that change the way I wrote songs,” he said.

But he draws the line on “Heartbreak Warfare.” Here’s a sampling of the lyrics:

    Lightning strike
Inside my chest to keep me up at night
    Dream of ways
To make you understand my pain
Clouds of sulfur in the air
    Bombs are falling everywhere
    It’s heartbreak warfare
Once you want it to begin
    No one really ever wins
    In heartbreak warfare

“I feel bad because people think ‘Heartbreak Warfare’ is about her. I wanna go on record saying it’s not. That woman would never use heartbreak warfare. That woman was the most communicative, sweetest, kindest person,” he told the magazine.

Mayer’s reputation definitely took a hit for the way the romance ended. He came across looking much shallower than his musical talent suggests.

“When people hear the record, I hope the songs make them think about their lives, not my life,” he says. “I don’t write songs in order to stick it to my exes.”

Channel 4, E4 to stop showing ‘Friends’

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

Channel 4 has ended its deal with Warner Bros for the rights to air US comedy Friends.

The broadcaster has shown the series, which starred Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courtney Cox and Matt Le Blanc, for 15 years. The station’s contract with Warners ends in 2011.

Comedy Central has picked up the rights to the NBC series, according to Broadcast.

Friends ran for ten series between 1994 and 2004, with the final episode drawing 8.6 million viewers in the UK. It has remained a daily staple on both Channel 4 and E4, with average viewing figures of around 400,000.

Head of Channel 4 acquisitions Gill Hay said: “After 15 years, ten hit series and 236 terrific episodes it’s time to say goodbye to old Friends and welcome new ones, in the form of more comedy, drama and entertainment from the US and UK.

“We are incredibly proud to have been the home of Friends for so long, but at a point when the channel is undergoing a period of creative renewal it felt like the right time to part company.”

Friends is the latest big show to finish airing on Channel 4, following the axing of Big Brother, Wife Swap and How Clean Is Your House?. The station has claimed that the decisions will allow them to “refresh the schedule”.
