Jennifer Aniston Slams Her ‘Friends’ Hairdo

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Playing Rachel Green on “Friends” made Jennifer Aniston a household name, but looking back at the haircut — emulated across America in the late ‘90s — isn’t something the actress looks back on fondly.

“I love [hairstylist] Chris [McMillan], and he’s the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look,’” Jennifer told the February issue of Allure magazine.

“How do I say this?” she continued, “I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen.”

Jennifer revealed she’s a much more easy going girl – hair wise, anyway.

“I’ve been glammed up; I’ve been glammed down, which is really more me,” she told the mag. “I didn’t wear mascara in [my new movie] ‘Just Go With It’. It’s fun to transform a little bit — what do I have to lose?”

It appears food too is something Jennifer prefers to keep simple.

“My friends and I were in Atlanta, and we went to this restaurant. My one friend is ordering, you know, sweetbreads with foie gras, the bone-marrow pasta, the buffalo tortellini, and I’m like, ‘This just doesn’t quite do it for me.’ You won’t see me ordering pheasant or rabbit,” she said.

Instead, Jennifer said she’s fallen for a simple vegetable.

“You know what I’ve just started to really love lately is Brussels sprouts,” she said. “Usually, Brussels sprouts smell like feet to me. But these were sliced and sautéed and really yummy. I’m going to make that.”

Jennifer also shared that she’s confused by the complex relationships on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” which she thinks appear almost overnight.

“You know what I find fascinating? ‘The Bachelor.’ I was mesmerized by how these girls, they meet this guy, they have three dates together or something, and they’re weeping as though they’ve just lost the love of their life,” she said. “I don’t understand that.”

Jennifer Aniston ‘doubtful’ for ‘Cougar Town’ return, says Courteney Cox

Friday, January 14th, 2011

Earlier on “Cougar Town” this season, Courteney Cox had the opportunity to have her second former “Friends” co-star in Jennifer Aniston appear on the show, and from what we can tell it was more than a positive experience.

Speaking to television critics in Los Angeles this week, Cox described a bit about why the appearance worked for both her and Jennifer so well:

“I mean it didn’t feel like Monica and Rachel at all, which was great because our characters are so different. But it just felt natural. We had a ball.”

However, Cox did express doubt about whether Aniston would ever show up again to play her character of a twisted psychiatrist:

“I don’t know — I mean maybe — she’s got so many … she’s literally, I think, did four movies this year,”

Would you want to see another “Friends” reunion with these two on “Cougar town” moving forward? (The show was renewed for a third season.)

Jennifer Aniston Gives Taylor Swift Breakup Advice?

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

Rumor has it that Taylor Swift got a bit of break-up advice from actress Jennifer Aniston backstage at the People’s Choice Awards. Swift recently parted ways with Jake Gyllenhaal, and various sources report that Aniston had a few words of wisdom for the young singer.

Aniston reportedly told Swift to “hang in there” and suggested she “go out there and have fun” adding that she “wanted Taylor to know everything will be okay.”

According to eonline.com, however, the story may be nothing more than rumor. Reps for the actress denied that claim and said that Jennifer didn’t even see Taylor at the ceremony.

“No, it is not true at all. Jennifer was only at the People’s Choice Awards for about 20 minutes. She arrived, presented Adam [Sandler] his award and then had to go to another commitment right after.”

The rep adds, “She did not even see Taylor there.”

Matthew Perry would ‘beg’ to get Jennifer Aniston on new show

Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

On February 9, Matthew Perry is returning for his first full-fledged comedy series since “Friends” with “Mr. Sunshine” — a show about a self-absorbed manager of a sports ironically that ironically is going to temporarily replace Courteney Cox’s “Cougar Town” in the lineup.

With a show featuring a star like Perry (who is also a co-executive producer), there are always two question you are begging to know the answer to:

1. Is the show funny?
2. Is Perry going to bringing Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, or any of the other “Friends” on board for a guest spot?

As for the first question, we won’t really know until the show airs (even though the premise itself certainly sounds ripe for comedy). Meanwhile, Perry tells “Entertainment Tonight” that he will literally “beg” his co-stars to come on the show if it sticks around long enough. (Cox has already convinced both Lisa Kudrow and Aniston to appear on “Cougar Town.”)

Kidman: Jen Aniston’s a Freak of Nature!

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

Aniston interviewed her “Just Go With It” co-star for the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, where Kidman tells Jen of her bikini body “You are a freak of nature. You have the best body I’ve ever seen. And I’m a heterosexual girl. You look good morning, noon, and night.”

It wasn’t all girl talk in the interview though, Kidman also gushed over her husband, country star Keith Urban — “I remember thinking, Oh, my God, if you ever gave me a man like that, I promise I would be completely devoted for the rest of my life. Something that wild. I remembered praying after I met him that I’d meet somebody, if not him, like him.

She adds, “You know how you dream as a girl; I’m one of those people. I would meet a guy, then I would imagine myself married and with kids within the first hour. [Laughs] But it worked out.”

Check out the full interview when the issue hits newsstands January 18.

Do Jennifer Aniston’s Perfume Sales Stink?

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Get a whiff of this.

As if Jennifer Aniston’s day didn’t already smell, now comes word that her first fragrance might be a bit of a stinker. Sales-wise, that is.

The star’s scent (initially called Lolavie before being changed to simply Jennifer Aniston) has reportedly not sold very well since making its summer debut in London, with much of the blame being put on Aniston’s supposed lackluster efforts to promote it.

Here’s what we were able to sniff out…

“It’s absolutely not true,” a rep for the actress exclusively tells E! News. “The fragrance was launched specifically for [London's famed department store] Harrods and Jennifer went there personally to launch it and to do press.”

Not to mention posing topless for it as well. Hello!

“The launch was one of Harrods most successful with the fragrance selling out that day. The fragrance is available still in the UK now at Boots stores as well as Harrods,” the rep points out. “The U.S. launch of the fragrance will happen sometime this coming year and Jennifer will be actively promoting the launch here in the U.S.”

Sweet.

Rupert Everett Slams Jennifer Aniston’s “Tasteless” Career

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

Rupert Everett is not one to keep his opinions to himself. Just ask George Clooney. Or Diane Keaton. Or Al Pacino. Or Robert Redford. Or Robert De Niro. Or Colin Firth, who ironically and incidentally commissioned the latest controversial interview with the actor.

And now we can add Jennifer Aniston to the list of stars Everett is getting catty on. Her crime?

Being too likeable. Oh yeah, and sucky.

Ostensibly speaking to BBC Radio 4 about how homosexuals fare in Hollywood, the conversation eventually turned to the question of audience perception and how, exactly, stars are made—Rupert argued that no matter how graciously an audience accepts an actor, it is the business that ultimately decides who will comprise the A-list.

And then he decided to give an example.

“If you look and analyze the careers of many, many stars, you’ll find that they’re mostly sustained by the business,” he said. “I’m not going to start naming names of people whose films have not succeeded at the box office, but you’ll find there’s lots of women and lots of men in the business that the powers that be decide are right for their business, and they’ll stand with them for quite a long time.”

Right about then was when he decided he would be OK naming a name or two after all.

“OK, something will go wrong, like Jennifer Aniston will have one too many total flops, but she’s still a member of that club, and she will still manage to…like a star forming in the universe, things will swirl around her and it will suddenly solidify into another vital tasteless romcom, you know, a little glitter next to the Crab Nebula.”

Rude? Obviously. Bitter? Undoubtedly. Though in his defense, neither The Switch, The Bounty Hunter, Love Happens nor Management exactly set the box office ablaze. But then again, romantic comedies are relatively cheap to make and therefore don’t have to net nine figures to be considered successes.

Oh, and in Jennifer Aniston’s defense: Marley & Me. $143 million. One of the most popular actresses in the world. Great hair. A face that moves. Deal with it, Rupert.

Of course, Everett still had a little venom left in him for the rest of the interview, going on to call out presumptive Oscar favorite Colin Firth.

As the conversation got back on track, Everett was asked whether or not The King’s Speech star had taken roles away from gay men.

“Colin Firth I don’t think was at all good in Mamma Mia!,” Everett said. “You know, I would have thought it was almost a careericide.

“On the other hand, I think his performance in A Single Man was the best performance of his life.”

Aww, see now? Isn’t it so much nicer when we all get along?

Jennifer Aniston Endorses Childrens Hospital

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

She has endorsed perfumes and fashion labels in the past but Hollywood beauty Jennifer Aniston has now lent her face and voice to a children’s hospital.

Aniston used her celebrity status for a good cause as she filmed a new TV ad for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Friends star appears alongside a little girl battling cancer in the 30 second commercial, who was given just weeks to live before receiving pioneering treatment at the hospital.

“Last year, sick with cancer, Jordyn was given just weeks to live,” says the 41-year-old actress in the commercial.

And Jordyn says, “Now I’m in the St Jude commercial.” As she kisses the girl on the face, Aniston tells her, “In it? You’re the star of it.”

The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is located in Memphis, Tennessee and is one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals.

Chelsea Handler Talks 50 Cent, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

What a year Chelsea Handler has had. Her E! talk show “Chelsea Lately” is a late-night staple, she hosted the VMAs back in September and she has even become a headlining-making princess on the gossip sites. In the new issue of Glamour, the funny lady opens to Katie Couric up about her big year and the people she spent it with.

The comedian has been spotted on and off with 50 Cent, sparking dating rumors. Both Handler and Fif have always denied that there’s anything romantic happening between them, and in the magazine she once again insists that no hanky-panky is going on.

“We’re thinking of doing a movie together, so we were talking about that,” she explains of her relationship with 50 Cent. “But he’s really cute, and I have to be honest, there’s a good chance that I will hook up with a rapper at some point.”

Handler sparked new headlines this week when, during a stand-up gig, she dissed Angelina Jolie. If you’re wondering why the comic has such an attitude toward the screen siren, it may help to know that Handler is friends with Jennifer Aniston.

“Jennifer Aniston makes me laugh. She sends me really, really funny e-mails. She’s hilarious and irreverent,” Handler says of her gal pal, while adding about Jolie, “I’m not a fan. She just doesn’t come off to me as a sincere woman. She seems like a woman that you’d really want to avoid.”

So if talking smack about Hollywood stars is allowed, is anything off-limits in her comedy? Well, yes.

“I think talking about children and their looks is not nice,” she explains. “And I don’t talk about people who are dying.”
